Seminar
Closing Event Floating Battery
Discover how battery containers provide shore power and charging capacity for sustainable inland navigation.
Flexible Energy for Green Supply Chains
Inland navigation faces a major energy transition. Electrification is accelerating, and the demand for charging capacity is rising. Fixed shore power installations are not feasible everywhere. In the Floating Battery project, VIL and Sirris developed a flexible alternative using battery containers. During this closing event, you will discover the project results and how advanced battery technology can support the energy transition towards green supply chains.
For whom?
This event is intended for:
- Inland shipping companies
- Port authorities and terminal operators
- Logistics companies
- Energy and technology companies
- Policy makers and public partners
Key takeaways
The project provides concrete insights for organisations involved in energy and electrification in inland navigation.
- System requirements for flexible shore power
- Technical concept and practical scenarios
- Lessons learned from maritime battery applications
- The role of grid operators in sustainable inland navigation
