Circular industrial technology value chains in aeronautics
This session presents the PLANUM project and how to develop a circular industrial value chain for end-of-life aircraft
End-of-life aircraft: an industrial challenge
Rising air traffic, fleet renewal and environmental constraints are increasing the challenges linked to end-of-life aircraft. Every year, hundreds of aircraft are withdrawn from service, while sustainable alternatives to aircraft graveyards remain limited. This session explores how circular industrial technology value chains can address this challenge.
For whom?
This event is aimed at:
- Aerospace industry stakeholders
- Industrial companies active in the circular economy
- Actors involved in dismantling, recycling or material recovery
- Decision-makers responsible for innovation or sustainability
Key takeaways
During this session, you will:
- Understand the industrial and environmental challenges of end-of-life aircraft
- Discover the PLANUM project and its methodology
- Identify constraints linked to products designed 10 to 20 years ago
- Explore the circular recovery potential of metals and composites
Programme
The session will cover:
- The context and challenges of end-of-life aircraft
- The creation of a circular industrial value chain through the PLANUM project
- Key assumptions, questions and technical constraints
- A focus on two material streams: metals and composites
